ABOUT |

The Matrix Miner Monitor M3-1000 is a Continuous Miner Proximity Detection System designed to detect
the location of personnel around the Continuous Miner (CM) and disable tram and boom functions when a
defined RED ZONE is breached.
| WHAT IT DOES | ||
The system utilizes four intrinsically safe (IS) receivers mounted on the CM perimeter and personnel
carried transmitters. The transmitter emits a magnetic signal that is identified by the receivers,
which translate into respective personnel locations. The location information is used to determine if
the RED ZONE (programmable) has been breached.
When the RED ZONE is breached, tram and boom
functions will be disabled.
The M3-1000 is an MSHA 30 CFR Part 18 fully approved system that is in operational testing on a Joy 14CM15 continuous miner in production use in a Western Kentucky coal mine. |
