METS Wireless Atmospheric Monitoring Sensor (WAMS)
is designed to save mines time and money by providing
quick and easy calibration and replacement of sensors. AMS
software keeps track of location and battery life of
WAMS and notifies operators when maintenance is needed. WAMS
is a two part design that includes the Sensor Unit (Gas Detection)
and a Base Unit which has a unique identifier. The sensor and base
pair are installed together and the AMS Software is given the location
of the pair. When the sensor needs maintenace, a new sensor is sent
underground by the beltman or electrician and placed on the base, the
base is never moved. The software detects the new sensor and updates
the location accordingly. When WAMS is paired with METS 2.1 the system
will continue to operate during fan stoppage.
